ROS BAG conversion utility programming gig

Hello ROS gurus,

I am designing a new building(architecture) indoor dynamic mapping solution. Hardware is based on array of intel realsense cameras & intel provided SLAM. I have strong feeling you may be right skillful shoulder to tap to provide me some much needed middleware software that I require to complete my desired business workflow as follows:

1/ Custom utility to read intel realsense ROS bag file pulling out L515 data & writing accurate point cloud in PCD format with intensity.

2/ Custom utility to read intel realsense ROS bag file pulling out D455 data & writing color point cloud in RCS format.

3/ Custom utility to read intel realsense ROS bag file pulling out D455 data & writing video in WebM format with lossless codec.

4/ Custom utility to read intel realsense ROS bag file pulling out T265 data & writing accurate track in GPX format.

FYI: My current plan is to connect 7cameras in array including: 4x L515 + 2x D455 + 1x T265. I believe I can run all at same time & use intel realsense viewer to save as one ROS bag file.

Please advise how you can assist my team with above four utilities. Then my team can run with those outputs & do our magic with reconstruction into panoramic tours & smart objects: walls, windows, doors, etc … for architectural & engineering design processes.

The Robotics and Automation Unit at Eurecat Technology Center (Barcelona) is looking for a highly motivated researcher to develop his/her PhD thesis in learning, understanding and reasoning for graceful behaviour in robots.

The candidate will work mainly for the RoNous Flagship project. The thesis will explore the scientific challenges related to model the behavior of robots based on learning. The ability to learn and extract information from the environment will enable a new approach for behavior planning and programming exploiting this knowledge and the consciousness of the environment. The goal is to incorporate cognitive concepts in the decision making process, in order to obtain a more natural behavior. The Role

As a Senior Robotics Software Engineer in Test, you will use your expertise to lead the software QA effort for the robotics software which controls Flippy. In the near term, you will work with the system both in simulation and in the kitchen to help ensure high quality of the product for our upcoming deployment with White Castle, where Flippy will be operating the deep fryers. Software at Miso Robotics means working in the kitchen and getting your hands dirty, even if Flippy does the heavy lifting.

For this role, you will work with developers to establish test cases for the system and then execute and document the results. An ideal candidate for this role will understand and appreciate the value of automation testing and will have a strong testing mindset. The ideal candidate will also have strong programming skills which will be leveraged to contribute to our software automation testing. This is a great opportunity for an experienced software engineer to get into an exciting area of robotics.

Position: Software Programmer
Requirements: Proficient in embedded Linux, particularly Yocto (Ubunutu embedded), as well as C++, Python Scripting, and Robot Operating System (ROS). Additional familiarity with Qt desired

This position is initially a contract based on Statement of Work for the purpose of performing enhancements for existing software based on the above mentioned operating systems. This is a sophisticated code base utilized in underwater systems for divers, and will involve automation of some tasks which are normally performed with diver interaction which will instead become “configurations” that perform certain functions automatically based on specific events as measured from sensors or based on acquiring and storing data at specific time intervals.

The current code base is used for underwater sensors and must be enhanced to add communication with radio and “AIS” navigation transceivers, and must both acquire data from these sensors for storage, as well as send data either periodically or when queried through the radio transceiver. It will be necessary to write certain component drivers or modify existing drivers for those sensors. Therefore, proficiency in C++ and the ability and familiarity in working with quad-core ARM processors is critical.

The Dynamic Legged Systems Lab at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), an English language Institute, is seeking to appoint 2 outstanding, highly-motivated PhD students who will be involved in ongoing quadruped locomotion and vision research that aims to develop versatile all-terrain legged robots. A three-year pre-doctoral position (doctoral student position) is available at Universität Klagenfurt in the Institute for Smart System Technologies, Control of Networked Systems Group (http://sst.aau.at/cns, http://uav.aau.at). The position is part of a research project in medical robotics that aims to develop the basis for the next generation of autonomous surgical robots with the help of artificial intelligence and multi-sensor fusion. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the tasks and milestones of the project through independent research and to present the results in journals and at conferences. The position is aimed at the scientific training of graduates of a diploma or master program with the goal of obtaining a PhD degree in engineering.
In the “Control of Networked Systems” Group, we seek to push the current limits in AI supported state estimation, cooperative visual perception, and multi-modal sensor fusion for autonomous and mobile networked systems. The group publishes in international top journals and conference proceedings. Successful applicants will be encouraged and supported to publish their work in such journals and proceedings, and will have the opportunity to cooperate with our world renowned international partners from science and industry. We currently cooperate with partners in the USA, Australia, Asia, and in Europe. We specifically encourage and support close and open collaboration with our peers both internationally and at the University.
